  23. My back up program backs up any file that has been modified since the last Back Up. But even a blinking icon makes the Finder consider a stack modified even if nothing else has changed.

  25. Lock the stacks that you don't consciously want to modify in order to avoid useless back ups. It also avoids accumulating free space that has to be compacted away.
